“Yajamana” Re-Releasing on November 7 After 25 Years!
The iconic family drama Yajamana, starring Karnataka Ratna Dr. Vishnuvardhan, is set to re-release across Karnataka on November 7, exactly 25 years after its original release in the year 2000. The film was produced by Mehrunnisa Rehaman and directed by R. Sheshadri – Radha Bharathi. This classic has now been upgraded with modern digital technology for today’s audiences. The re-release is being brought by Muniswamy S.D.
To celebrate the film’s silver jubilee, a grand event was held at the Artists Association. The film’s producers, actors, and technicians participated and shared nostalgic memories about Yajamana.

Producer Rehaman said, “The two people who made this film possible were Vishnuvardhan sir and K.V. Nagesh Kumar. The film celebrated 100 days in more than 130 theatres, ran for 25 weeks in over 40 theatres, and completed 1 year in 4 theatres. It collected ₹35 crore 25 years ago — an outstanding record.”
Starring Vishnuvardhan, Prema, Shashikumar, Abhijeeth, Ramesh Bhat, Tennis Krishna, and many others, the film holds a special place in Kannada cinema. Rehaman added, “We hope the film receives even bigger success this time.”
Technically Upgraded for Today’s Audience
Yajamana has been digitally remastered using DI process for 4K digital projection.
Originally in mono sound, every actor’s voice and songs have been painstakingly remastered to 5.1 & 7.1 digital sound. Modern technicians and sound specialists have worked for months to enhance the audio experience. Music director Rajesh Ramanath confirmed that no expense or effort was spared in updating the film’s sound and quality.
Muniswamy expressed, “I am a big fan of Dr. Vishnuvardhan. Out of love and respect for him, I have restored and re-released Yajamana with the latest technology. The film will release in over 150 theatres on November 7. I request everyone to watch this movie only in theatres.”

Actors Shashikumar, Abhijeeth, Ramesh Bhat, Tennis Krishna, and writer Ravi Shreevatsa shared their memories from the film. K.V. Nagesh Kumar, K. Manju, and Shreyas Manju attended as chief guests and offered their best wishes.
